Funk for Your Feet

OK kids, it's that time of year again. The red breasted robins are singing, the sun is shining, skies are blue and spring is in the air ya'll! Oh wait, scratch that.

Eff you Spring and the Punxsutawney Phil that you road in on!
Instead, I give to you this:

Spring Break 2013! Wooooooo! Um, wha?

I'm suddenly reminded of an amazing-and-absolutely-true note that my beloved sister wrote to me when she was 6 and I was 4:

You ain't never gonna walk in my room again
I give to you spit!

That is 180% true and I will harass my mom until she scans it and sends it our way. Seriously though, that is just what this 2013 spring has felt like so far. It gives to me spit. But I digress because while Phil (who by the way it turns out is right only 39% of the time) and the powers that be may be keeping me from my smooth sidewalks and unobstructed crossings, I say that there are still runs to be had. And while running at full speed on a loop facing a window or a brick wall is not exactly ideal, I believe that I have found the blissful path to get me through those obstacles: Music. Jams. Funk for your feet.

Did I mention that SpecialK and I are training for the Indianapolis 500 Mini Marathon in May? Finally, we are stepping up as true Hoosiers and doing this thing. A rite of passage if you will as both a native (lui) and transplant (moi). I am up to 8 miles folks so yeah, it's happening, despite this effed up white mess that continues to dump all around, ankle surgeries and other life happenings be damned, we're doing this.

Here's how it's getting done lately and it's long because, you know, we're up to 8. This is the stuff that mutes out the rest of the world and creates those running paths especially for you and me, like a bubble. Can be played in any order and you're welcome.
